When it comes to looking for love, even the smartest women make the most stupid mistakes.
You’re never going to
find love if you keep finding flaws in every guy you meet. Perfection is a lie
people and you’re rarely going to come across someone who meets all your
requirements. You want a man who is tall, handsome, rich, famous. You won't
find that man even in the Bible.
Instead of
setting impossible-to-meet standards, figure out what your relationship
deal-breakers are and what you can compromise on. And when you meet someone you
hit it off with, give him a chance even if he doesn’t meet your criteria
- Being too
available vs. playing hard to get
You’re not a
puppy so stop acting like one! He doesn’t want a desperate genie who’s at his
beck and call. Don’t go running after him every time he calls and NEVER
ditch your friends for him. Okay, not never but don’t do it all the
time. Believe it or not, being too available is a turn off. He needs to
know that you’re an individual who has a life. At the same time, don’t play too
hard to get. He may simply think you’re not interested and move on.
- The
where of it all
Now, I’m not
saying you can’t find love in a club but chances are the men there aren’t
looking for anything long term. Yes, love is all about chance meetings and
fate but you’ll probably have a better chance of finding someone at your
office or your college than on a dance floor on a Saturday night amidst sweaty
men
- Not
being who they are
I know I keep
repeating this over and over, but I can’t stress the importance of being
yourself when it comes to finding love. If you’re a loud mouthed
loving girl, be that. If you’re quiet and prefer to spend your weekends
indoors, be that. If you love shopping and partying, be that. The minute
you put on a show, remember that you may trick him into falling for you but
he’s not falling for the real you and you can’t fake it forever.
- Patience
Last but not
least, love is not easy and it’s certainly not quick so be patient. You may
have been on a great couple of dates with a guy but don’t freak him out by
using the “L” word just yet. Get to know him inside out, and see if the
sparks last beyond the initial phase. Falling in love takes time. At the
same time, don’t continue dating someone if you know for a fact that he’s not
right for you, hoping that you’ll fall in love. Let go and move on
Well, its ok
