Relationships are a two-way thing; it needs understanding and cooperation from two partners who really care about each other to make it grow. However, some people forget about the essence of a relationship and let certain things come in the way of their relationship.
Selfishness is really a bad relationship trait, and it’s one that could totally destroy a relationship. Somehow, some people exhibit selfish traits without even knowing, while some know but still don’t care, and that is even a greater height of selfishness.
After careful observation, I’ve noticed some things men do in a relationship/marriage which truly exhibits selfishness. Sorry brothers, if you belong in this category listed below then it’s time for a change.
1. DATE A LADY FOR MANY YEARS WITH NO INTENTION OF BEING SERIOUS WITH HER
Surprisingly, we are in a society which believes that as a woman ages, her stock begin to depreciate, while that of the man continues on the ascendancy for a longer time. The selfish thing about this is some men go on to date a lady for many, many years with no intention of ever being committed, while the lady dreams of a beautiful diamond ring for a proposal that would never come. A lady I know was even engaged to a man for over seven years, only for the man to recently call it off— now imagine the heartbreak. Sadly enough, there are many cases like this and it’s called SELFISHNESS.
2. BEING UNFAITHFUL EVEN WHEN MARRIED
It’s really selfish for someone to cheat on a partner and what’s more selfish is for someone to cheat when married. The worst part is, men tend to cheat more in marriage when the woman starts giving birth. That really is selfishness at its peak, and the crazy part about it is appreciating the pleasure of the other woman with a tighter vagina, like you weren’t a partaker in that of your wife’s. If you are in this category bro, sorry to say, but that’s SELFISHNESS.
3. SPEND MORE MONEY ON A SIDE CHIC
This is another thing we are also a culprit of. We do a lot to get a lady and once she’s given in and have fallen for our antics, we tend to prefer spending more on a side chic to probably impress as well. There are so many married men who would frown at even gifting their wives but would easily shower loads of cash items (and expensive one at that on a side chic); if this is you, that’s SELFISH.
4. BEING OVERLY AUTHORITATIVE
Yes, the man should be the man, but sometimes, we tend to let our manly ego come in the way, even in our relationships. Your wife, fiancée or girlfriend should be more than an object that’s subjected to force and command. I call such marriages and relationships a military marriage or relationship. Your lady should be treated with respect, she should be listened to and her opinions should also count.
5. FIGHT TO WIN HER AND TREAT HER LIKE TRASH AFTERWARDS
This is another common thing we also subject women to. When a man is trying to woo a lady, he gives her this impression that he’s the best for her, promises to make her happy like no one would, and just after he gets her, a different song is played at the background. This also is SELFISHNESS; it is because the woman’s emotions and feelings have been taken for granted.
6. HIT A LADY AT THE SLIGHTEST INSTANCE
Search ‘domestic violence’ on Google or any other search engine and the results you would see is shocking. Domestic violence is also a sign of selfishness; the beautiful body of a lady isn’t even taken into consideration as it’s hit by the violent man without even minding. The marks left on the body of that lady is enough proof that the man is just self-centred and doesn’t even care about the body of a woman he claims to love. You can’t claim to love a lady and hit her with all sorts of objects that isn’t allowed in a boxing ring, knowing the frail nature of a woman especially — that’s selfishness at its peak.
PS This isn’t an attempt to portray us in the bad way fellas, and yea, I agree there are an uncountable amount of good and unselfish men out there, but check around and you would know that there is really a good amount of selfish men in relationships and marriages too.
